This week marked the two year anniversary of when I first started at Fuller. January 13, 2014 was my first day on the job and I was installed as a pastor here at Fuller on January 26th. Over the last few days I’ve spent some time reflecting on these couple of years and I thought I’d share some of the highlights.
First of all, I am encouraged by how God has been at work. The Lord has blessed our work here on the corner of Fuller and Noble. We’ve celebrated new members, new births and a 90th anniversary. We’ve expanded our ministries and deepened our faith.
Secondly, God continues to lead us in new and fresh ways. We have new additions to our staff, we’re transitioning into a healthier understanding of Faith Formation, we’ve benefited from a renovation of our Fellowship Room, and we continue to reach beyond our walls to those who need to hear the Gospel. God is good!
As your pastor I am thankful for a congregation that loves well and I am hopeful for what God will do through us in 2016. This year we’ll continue to follow His lead as we work hard to grow closer to Jesus and as we strive to help others enter into a life changing relationship with Christ. Thank you for the privilege of being your pastor.
This past Sunday we began a new series of messages entitled You Were Made for This and over the next four weeks we’ll explore how God has created each of us – how God designed you – with a purpose. He didn’t create any of us on accident. Last Sunday we heard from Ephesians 1 that God chose you and me to be a part of His family. God intentionally selected you and placed you where you are and with the people you know to make a difference. If you missed the message I invite you to listen to it or watch it on our website at www.FullerCRC.org.
This coming Sunday we’ll take the next step in our series as we examine Ephesians 2:1-10. Together we’ll wrestle with how our election by God makes a difference in our day to day lives. If you have a chance I encourage you to read the passage ahead of time.
Finally, we are also kicking off our new Book of the Quarter this week. It’s entitled Daring Greatly and it’s written by Brené Brown. Copies will be available at the Ministry Center for $5 each. I hope you’ll read it with me and that together we’ll be empowered to dare greatly as we follow our God.
Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday.
Grace and Peace,
