Pastor’s Preview for November 22, 2015

Hi Friends,

Last Sunday we tackled the topic of sex. We looked at how our culture is saturated with sex. It’s on our TV’s. It’s online and in print. Sex and sexuality bombard us at every turn. We saw how this hyper-sexuality is often a symptom of a deeper problem – a fear of intimacy – and together we explored how God calls us to be united with him and to be connected to each other. If you happened to miss the message I encourage you to pick up a DVD copy from the Ministry Center or listen to it online – simply by clicking here.

This week we move from sex to money. As we continue our series on stewardship we’re going to spend some time talking about how God calls us to use our money. Again, it’s another touchy topic. Our money is often near and dear to our hearts and so it is important that we understand how God designed us to use this good gift he’s given us. This Sunday we’ll be looking at 2 Corinthians 8:1-15 and we’ll unpack Paul’s instructions to the church in Corinth regarding their generosity. If you can, read through the passage and ask yourself, “What is my attitude toward giving?” I look forward to exploring this together.

Also, if you have not yet be sure to sign up for a timeslot to get your picture taken for our new directory. Most slots are full, but we still have a few more. To sign up visit the Fellowship Room on Sunday, call the office at church (616-241-1679), or sign up via a link on our home page at We hope you’ll take this opportunity to participate!

Finally, this Sunday is your last opportunity to contribute to our Mountain of Mercy as we assemble and distribute 60 food baskets for needy households in our neighborhood. This week all types of food are welcome. Let’s have these baskets overflow!

Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday.

Grace and Peace,

Pastor Nate
